Kidney Function Recovery Programme

A 14-day nutritional support programme for kidney health: reducing toxic load, improving filtration, protecting renal tissue, and restoring electrolyte balance with Coral Club supplements.
Curated by Dace Laua · Holistic Nutritionist
"I'm here to guide you step by step: product selection, key benefits and help with your order. Let's find the best choice for your health together."

The kidneys are among the hardest-working organs in the body, filtering approximately 180 litres of blood every single day to remove waste products, excess minerals, and metabolic by-products while regulating fluid volume, blood pressure, electrolyte balance, and acid-base equilibrium simultaneously. They also produce hormones that stimulate red blood cell production and activate vitamin D. When kidney function is compromised, even mildly, the effects extend far beyond the urinary system: fatigue deepens, blood pressure rises, fluid accumulates in the tissues, and the whole metabolic environment of the body shifts toward an acidic, inflammatory state that accelerates the decline.

The causes of impaired kidney function are wide-ranging. Chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure are the most common drivers of progressive kidney damage. Recurrent urinary tract infections, dehydration, excessive intake of certain medications, alcohol, and environmental toxins all place additional burden on the renal tissue. Electrolyte imbalances, particularly low magnesium and potassium alongside excess sodium, impair the fine regulatory mechanisms the kidneys depend on. And chronic stress, which disrupts blood pressure regulation and cortisol levels, has a direct and often underappreciated impact on renal microcirculation.

I want to be direct before going further: any diagnosed kidney condition, from recurrent UTIs to confirmed chronic kidney disease, requires medical oversight. This programme is designed as nutritional support for kidney health, not as a treatment for any kidney condition. If your kidney function has been assessed by a GP and found to be significantly impaired, please discuss this programme with your doctor before beginning, as some nutrients, including potassium, require careful management in kidney disease. Please also seek urgent medical attention if you are experiencing severe back pain, blood in the urine, or significantly reduced urine output.

This 14-day programme works across four sequential stages, each building on the last: gentle detoxification to reduce the load on the kidneys, active support for filtration and the reduction of fluid retention, anti-inflammatory and tissue-protective support, and finally a maintenance phase to consolidate and sustain the improvements.

Stage One: Preparation and Gentle Detoxification (Days One to Three)

The first three days focus on reducing the toxic and metabolic load that the kidneys are currently managing and on providing the foundational minerals and vitamins that kidney tissue needs to begin its recovery work.

Metastick is a liquid supplement in a convenient single-serving stick, containing plant-based components that support gentle intestinal cleansing and reduce the toxin load being circulated to the kidneys from the gut. When the intestinal environment is cleaner, less harmful material enters the bloodstream, and the filtration burden on the kidneys is immediately reduced. One stick daily after food, as directed on the packaging.

PentoKan is an effervescent tablet providing potassium alongside ribose and vitamin C. Potassium is the primary intracellular electrolyte and plays a central role in maintaining the correct fluid balance, nerve signalling, and muscle function throughout the body. Ribose supports cellular energy production at a mitochondrial level, which is directly relevant to the energy-intensive work of renal filtration. Vitamin C provides antioxidant protection to the kidney tubules and supports the integrity of the fine blood vessels within the kidney. One tablet dissolved in a glass of water each morning.

Ultimate Max provides a comprehensive multivitamin and mineral complex covering the full B-vitamin family; vitamins A, C, D, and E; and key minerals including zinc, selenium, magnesium, and iodine, all in highly bioavailable forms. Kidney tissue has a high requirement for antioxidants and cofactors for its enzymatic processes, and broad micronutrient support at this stage helps to protect cells from oxidative stress while the programme’s more targeted interventions take effect. One capsule with food.

Coral Magnesium provides magnesium in the glycinate and taurate forms for superior absorption. Magnesium relaxes smooth muscle in the blood vessels supplying the kidneys, improving microcirculation in the renal tissue and helping to prevent the vascular spasm that reduces filtration efficiency. It also helps to stabilise blood pressure, which is one of the most important factors in protecting kidney tissue from further damage over time. One capsule in the evening.

Stage Two: Improving Filtration and Reducing Fluid Retention (Days Four to Eight)

This stage focuses on improving blood flow through the kidneys, supporting the clearance of excess fluid from the tissues, and restoring the gut-kidney relationship that is central to effective detoxification.

Coral Lecithin provides phospholipids that support the integrity of cell membranes throughout the vascular system, including the delicate glomerular membranes within the kidneys through which filtration occurs. It also supports liver function, reducing the lipid and metabolic burden that the liver passes to the kidneys when its own processing capacity is strained. One capsule once or twice daily with food.

Super Flora restores healthy gut bacteria, reducing the production of uremic toxins, compounds generated by gut bacteria that pass into the bloodstream and must be cleared by the kidneys. Research increasingly links gut microbiome composition to kidney health: a dysbiotic gut generates a significantly higher uremic toxin load, accelerating kidney decline. Restoring beneficial bacteria is a meaningful indirect support for renal function. One capsule after breakfast.

Coral-Mine is the hydration foundation of this and every stage of the programme. One sachet dissolved in 1.5 litres of water, sipped throughout the day between meals, provides the alkalising, mineralising hydration that kidney tissue depends on for effective filtration. Adequate daily water intake is the single most important preventive measure for kidney health, and the quality of that water matters: structured, alkaline, mineralised water reduces the acidic burden on the kidneys and supports the natural excretion of waste products. Continue throughout all stages.

Coral Taurine provides the amino acid taurine, which plays a direct role in protecting kidney cells from oxidative damage and in regulating the tonicity of cells within the renal tubules. Taurine modulates the inflammatory response within kidney tissue, has a mild diuretic effect that supports fluid clearance, and supports the vascular system more broadly by helping to maintain healthy blood pressure and reduce the arterial stiffness that worsens renal microcirculation over time. One capsule daily as directed.

Stage Three: Tissue Restoration and Anti-inflammatory Protection (Days Nine to Twelve)

With the load on the kidneys reduced and microcirculation improved, this stage provides the specific anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and metabolic support that kidney tissue needs to repair and strengthen itself.

Omega-3 TG provides EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids in triglyceride form. Omega-3 fatty acids have well-documented nephroprotective properties: they reduce the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins within the kidney, improve the lipid composition of renal cell membranes, and support healthy glomerular filtration by reducing intraglomerular pressure. Research in people with chronic kidney conditions has found omega-3 supplementation to be associated with slower progression of kidney function decline. One capsule twice daily with food containing fat for best absorption.

H-500 provides powerful cellular antioxidant protection at the mitochondrial level. The kidneys are extremely metabolically active and generate significant oxidative stress as a by-product of their continuous filtration work. When this oxidative burden is not adequately managed, kidney cells are damaged faster than they can repair themselves. H-500 helps to neutralise this burden, protecting the tubular cells and glomeruli that are most vulnerable to cumulative oxidative damage. One capsule once or twice daily after food.

Tasty B provides the complete B-vitamin family in a rapidly absorbed, pleasant chewable form. B vitamins are essential cofactors in the energy production of renal cells, support the metabolism of homocysteine, and regulate the nervous system function that influences blood pressure and renal blood flow. B12 and folate are particularly relevant in kidney health as they are often depleted in people with impaired kidney function and contribute to the anaemia and cognitive changes that can accompany it. One tablet with morning food.

Pau D’Arco with Selenium addresses the infectious and inflammatory component that is frequently present in impaired kidney function, particularly in people with a history of recurrent urinary tract infections. Pau D’Arco has antifungal, antibacterial, and immune-modulating properties that may help to reduce the pathogenic load contributing to chronic renal inflammation. Selenium supports the antioxidant enzyme systems that protect kidney cells and plays a regulatory role in the immune responses that drive inflammatory kidney conditions. One capsule as directed, thirty minutes before food.

Stage Four: Consolidation and Long-Term Maintenance (Days Thirteen to Fourteen and Beyond)

The final two days transition the programme toward a long-term maintenance approach that sustains kidney health over time and prevents the gradual accumulation of burden that leads to declining function.

Continue Omega-3 TG at one capsule daily with food as an ongoing anti-inflammatory and nephroprotective habit. Continue Coral Lecithin at one capsule daily to sustain membrane integrity and liver support. Continue Ultimate Max for a further one to two weeks to address any remaining micronutrient deficiencies.

Every six months, consider completing a Colo-Vada Plus or similar cleansing programme to reduce the accumulated toxic and metabolic burden that the kidneys must process, giving them a periodic rest from peak filtration demand.

Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

Drink at least thirty to thirty-five millilitres of water per kilogram of body weight each day, consistently and throughout the day rather than in large amounts at once. Reduce salt intake, as excess sodium is one of the primary contributors to fluid retention and elevated blood pressure that strain the kidneys. Moderate your intake of animal protein during the programme period, as protein metabolism generates waste products that the kidneys must filter. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, both of which increase the dehydration burden. Avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen during the programme, as these are directly nephrotoxic and significantly worsen kidney blood flow.

Gentle daily movement and warmth in the lower back region support kidney microcirculation. Avoid cold and damp conditions, which constrict the renal blood vessels and impair filtration. Manage stress actively, as chronic cortisol elevation is one of the most consistent contributors to blood pressure dysregulation and its downstream effects on kidney health.

Please consult your GP before beginning this programme if you have any diagnosed kidney condition or relevant blood test abnormalities. If you would like to discuss whether this programme is right for your situation, please reach out through the contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need all twelve supplements?

The programme is designed as a layered protocol with each stage building on the last, and following all four stages in full gives the most complete result. If you are starting conservatively, the non-negotiables are Coral-Mine throughout, Coral Magnesium and Ultimate Max in stage one, and Omega-3 TG and H-500 in stage three, as these address the most fundamental nutritional needs of kidney tissue. PentoKan, Coral Taurine, Pau D’Arco with Selenium, and the others add meaningful support. Please discuss any concerns about specific supplements with your GP, particularly if you have diagnosed kidney impairment.

How long before I notice any improvement?

Most people notice some reduction in fluid retention and an improvement in energy within the first five to seven days as the hydration quality improves and the electrolyte balance begins to stabilise. Improvements in urinary comfort, reduced back heaviness, and general wellbeing typically build through stages two and three over the fourteen-day course. The maintenance habits of stage four are what sustain those improvements over the longer term. I would encourage tracking your symptoms, fluid intake, and energy levels daily during the programme.

Can I take this programme alongside prescribed medication for blood pressure or diabetes?

Please speak with your GP before starting this programme if you are on any prescribed medication, particularly if you are being treated for high blood pressure or diabetes, both of which are directly connected to kidney health. Some supplements can affect blood pressure and electrolyte levels, which matters when medication is involved. Your doctor needs to know what you are taking and may want to monitor your kidney function markers during the programme.

I have been told I have a kidney stone. Is this programme appropriate for me?

Kidney stones require specific medical assessment to determine their composition, as different types of stone respond to different dietary and supplementation approaches. Some supplements that support general kidney health may not be appropriate depending on your stone type. Please discuss this programme with your GP or urologist before beginning if you have a confirmed kidney stone or a history of stone formation. They can advise on which elements of this programme are suitable for your specific situation.
