Blood is the body’s most essential transport system. Every cell depends on it to receive the oxygen needed to produce energy and to carry away waste products. When haemoglobin levels fall below what the body needs, as happens in anaemia, the consequences ripple through every system simultaneously. The fatigue that anaemia produces is not ordinary tiredness. It is the deep, bone-level exhaustion that comes when the body’s cells are simply not receiving enough oxygen to do their work.

Anaemia is not a single condition but a group of conditions united by this common outcome. The most common form in the UK is iron-deficiency anaemia, caused by insufficient iron to produce adequate haemoglobin. Anaemia can also result from deficiency of vitamin B12 or folate, from chronic disease, from blood loss, or from conditions that affect how red blood cells are produced or how long they survive. Understanding the cause matters, which is why I always recommend a GP assessment and blood test before beginning this programme.

The symptoms most commonly associated with anaemia include weakness, persistent fatigue, and reduced capacity for work. Pale skin and visible mucous membranes. Breathlessness during previously comfortable exertion and a racing heartbeat. Dizziness, ringing in the ears, and visual disturbances. Difficulty concentrating and a decline in memory. Dry skin, brittle hair and nails. In iron-deficiency anaemia specifically, there may also be cravings for unusual substances such as chalk or raw grains, cracking at the corners of the mouth, inflammation of the tongue, and changes to the nail surface including a characteristic spoon-shaped depression.

This programme is structured across three sequential stages, each building on the last. It is designed not only to replenish iron and vitamin deficits but also to create the optimal conditions for their absorption and to support the blood-forming system as a whole.

Stage 1

Preparation and Gut Optimisation

This stage runs for two to three weeks. A dehydrated body cannot absorb nutrients efficiently, and a digestive system that is not functioning well will not extract iron and B vitamins from food or supplements at the level the body needs. This stage corrects both before the direct replenishment of Stage 2 begins.

Coral-Mine provides the hydration foundation of the entire programme. Structuring daily water with mineralised, alkaline Coral-Mine water improves blood biochemistry, normalises pH balance, and creates the internal environment in which iron absorption is most effective. Dissolve one sachet in 1.5 to 2 litres of clean still water, sip throughout the day between meals, and begin each morning with a full glass on an empty stomach.

Assimilator is an enzyme and botanical complex that significantly improves the breakdown and absorption of food. In anaemia, particularly where digestive problems are part of the picture, this is a critically important supplement. It helps to break down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, supporting the release and absorption of iron, vitamin B12, and folic acid from food. Take one capsule two to three times daily directly with meals.

Coral Lecithin supports the liver, which plays a central role in vitamin metabolism and iron storage. The liver stores iron as ferritin and produces the transport proteins that carry iron in the bloodstream. Lecithin also maintains the structural integrity of red blood cell membranes, improving their elasticity and stability. Take one capsule twice daily with food.

Stage 2

Replenishing Deficits and Stimulating Blood Formation

This stage runs for one and a half to two months and is the core of the programme. It directly provides the iron, B vitamins, and supportive nutrients that haemoglobin synthesis and red blood cell production depend on, alongside the microbiome support that enables their proper absorption.

Iron provides iron in chelated bisglycinate form, which is well absorbed by the body and does not irritate the stomach lining the way standard iron supplements often do. Iron is the primary raw material for haemoglobin synthesis and is the essential starting point for anyone with confirmed iron-deficiency anaemia. Take one capsule once daily with food, ideally alongside a source of vitamin C to enhance absorption.

Premium Spirulina provides iron in an organic form alongside a complete protein profile, chlorophyll, and B vitamins. Chlorophyll is structurally similar to haemoglobin and gently supports the blood-forming process. Spirulina provides the body with a wide spectrum of nutrients that support haematopoiesis holistically and helps to raise haemoglobin levels. Take two tablets twice daily with food.

Tasty B provides folic acid and the complete B-vitamin family in a readily absorbed form. Folic acid is essential for normal DNA synthesis in the precursor cells from which red blood cells develop. Without adequate folic acid, cells cannot divide normally, and megaloblastic anaemia develops, characterised by large dysfunctional red blood cells. Take one tablet daily with food.

Super Flora supports the gut microbiome, which directly influences the absorption of B vitamins and iron. A healthy and balanced intestinal flora creates the optimal conditions for nutritional replenishment throughout this stage. Take one capsule daily at night with a glass of water.

Stage 3

Strengthening and Consolidating Results

This final stage runs for one month. Once iron levels and haemoglobin are recovering, the focus shifts to providing antioxidant protection for newly formed red blood cells, improving microcirculation to ensure oxygenated blood reaches tissues efficiently, and supporting cellular energy production in the organs most affected by the anaemic period.

H-500 is a powerful antioxidant complex that strengthens capillary walls, protects blood cells from oxidative stress, and improves microcirculation, supporting the better delivery of oxygen to tissues. Take one capsule twice daily with food.

Omega-3 TG provides omega-3 fatty acids that are incorporated into the membranes of red blood cells, improving their fluidity and flexibility. This allows red blood cells to pass more easily through the finest capillaries in the body, improving oxygen delivery to the tissues that need it most. Omega-3s also have an anti-inflammatory effect that supports the recovery process. Take one capsule twice daily with food.

Coenzyme Q10 supports mitochondrial energy production at a cellular level, which is particularly important for the organs with the highest energy demands: the heart and brain, which are among the first to suffer when anaemia reduces the oxygen available to them. It also acts as an antioxidant, protecting recovering cells from further oxidative damage. Take one capsule once daily with food.

Dietary Support for Recovery

Supplements work most effectively alongside a diet that provides the raw materials blood formation requires. Include iron-rich foods consistently: red meat, liver, buckwheat, green leafy vegetables, legumes, and nuts. Pair iron-rich foods with vitamin C to enhance absorption. A balanced, varied diet rich in these foods alongside the programme creates the conditions for the most complete and lasting recovery.

Please consult your GP before beginning this programme to confirm your diagnosis and the type of anaemia involved. This programme is supportive nutritional care and does not replace the investigation and treatment of the underlying cause of anaemia.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need all ten supplements?

The programme is designed to work as a sequence, with each stage preparing the ground for the next. If you are starting with a confirmed iron deficiency, Iron, Coral-Mine, and Assimilator are the foundational three for Stages 1 and 2. Premium Spirulina and Tasty B add important broad blood-forming support. Super Flora is particularly valuable if your gut health is compromised. The Stage 3 supplements, H-500, Omega-3 TG, and Coenzyme Q10, consolidate the recovery and protect what has been rebuilt. I am always happy to help you work out the right starting point.

How long before I notice an improvement in my energy levels?

Most people notice a meaningful improvement in energy, reduced breathlessness, and better concentration within four to six weeks of consistent supplementation. The deep fatigue of anaemia tends to lift gradually rather than suddenly, and full recovery of haemoglobin levels can take three to six months depending on the severity of the deficiency. The programme runs for one to three months depending on the degree of anaemia, as noted in the source programme recommendations.

Can I take this programme alongside prescribed iron tablets from my GP?

Please discuss this with your GP before adding supplemental iron from this programme if you are already on prescribed iron medication. Your GP may advise adjusting your approach accordingly. The non-iron elements of this programme, particularly Assimilator, Coral Lecithin, Tasty B, and Super Flora, are generally compatible with prescribed iron treatment and support absorption and recovery alongside it.

I am vegetarian and have been told my B12 is low. Is this programme relevant for me?

Yes, and Tasty B is the most directly relevant supplement for B12 and folate support in this programme. Premium Spirulina also provides B vitamins in a natural form. For confirmed B12 deficiency, continuing with your GP’s investigation and any prescribed treatment is the essential first step alongside this programme.
