"I'm here to guide you step by step: product selection, key benefits and help with your order. Let's find the best choice for your health together."

Diabetes is one of the most complex and far-reaching metabolic conditions I encounter in my practice, and it is one where the relationship between nutritional support and medical management matters enormously. I want to be clear about something important before anything else: this programme is designed to complement medically supervised diabetes care, not to replace it. If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you are under the care of a GP or specialist team, and nothing in this programme should be started without their knowledge. Please share the full supplement list with your healthcare provider before beginning.

With that said, I do believe that thoughtful nutritional support has a meaningful role to play alongside medical treatment for many people with diabetes. The condition places specific and significant demands on the body: elevated blood glucose generates oxidative stress that damages blood vessels and nerves over time; the gut microbiome is increasingly understood to influence insulin sensitivity and metabolic health; certain minerals are depleted by elevated urinary glucose excretion; and the digestive and detoxification systems are under sustained pressure from the metabolic burden of the condition.

This programme addresses these systemic needs through six targeted supplements over 30 days. It is primarily relevant to people with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, where insulin sensitivity and metabolic support are the central concerns. If you have type 1 diabetes, the nutritional support principles are similar but must be managed even more carefully alongside your insulin regime, and your diabetes care team must be involved in any supplementation decisions.

Supporting Blood Sugar Balance and Digestion

Daily Delicious Hi-Fiber Acai and Blueberry is a fibre-rich powder supplement that I consider one of the most practical additions to a diabetic nutritional routine. It provides apple fibre, inulin, and L-glutamine in a pleasant drink that is prepared by dissolving one measuring scoop of nine grams into 150ml of water. Dietary fibre is one of the most well-supported nutritional tools for moderating post-meal glucose responses: soluble fibre slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, reducing the speed at which glucose enters the bloodstream after a meal and helping to maintain more stable blood sugar levels throughout the day. Inulin also acts as a prebiotic, feeding the beneficial gut bacteria whose role in metabolic regulation is increasingly recognised. L-glutamine supports the integrity of the gut lining, reducing intestinal permeability that can contribute to systemic inflammation. One serving mixed into water, taken once daily, ideally before a main meal.

Coral Magnesium addresses one of the most consistent nutritional deficiencies associated with diabetes. Magnesium is required for over three hundred enzymatic reactions in the body, including those involved in glucose metabolism and insulin signalling. Research consistently shows that people with type 2 diabetes tend to have lower magnesium levels than the general population, and that this deficiency is associated with poorer insulin sensitivity and blood glucose control. Elevated blood glucose increases urinary magnesium loss, creating a cycle that progressively depletes magnesium stores. This supplement provides magnesium in the highly bioavailable taurate and bisglycinate forms, 150mg per capsule. Magnesium taurate in particular is well suited for cardiovascular support, which is relevant given the increased cardiovascular risk that diabetes carries. One to two capsules daily with food.

Detoxification, Cellular Nutrition, and Immune Support

Chlorella Tablets provide 100% Chlorella Pyrenoidosa, a freshwater microalgae that is one of the most nutritionally dense natural foods available. Chlorella is rich in chlorophyll, which supports detoxification and the clearance of metabolic waste products; a complete protein profile; B vitamins including B12; iron; and a range of antioxidant compounds. In the context of diabetes, where oxidative stress is elevated and the body’s detoxification systems are under pressure, chlorella provides broad nutritional support and may help to reduce the inflammatory burden that drives the vascular complications of long-term elevated blood glucose. Six tablets daily, in two servings of three, with meals.

Zinc plays a direct role in the synthesis, storage, and secretion of insulin in the pancreas. The beta cells of the pancreas, which produce insulin, have a particularly high requirement for zinc, and zinc deficiency impairs their function. Zinc also supports immune function, which is important as people with diabetes have a higher susceptibility to infection, and contributes to wound healing, which is frequently compromised in poorly controlled diabetes. One tablet daily with food. Please note: B-Kurunga, also included in this programme, contains zinc as part of its formula. To avoid exceeding a sensible daily zinc intake, take the standalone Zinc supplement on alternate days if you are taking both, or discuss optimal zinc dosing with your GP.

Hydration and Microbiome Support

Coral-Mine improves the quality and mineral content of daily drinking water, providing an easily absorbed source of calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Adequate hydration is particularly important in diabetes, as the kidneys work harder to process excess glucose and are at greater risk of dehydration. The alkalising effect of Coral-Mine also helps to support a more balanced internal pH, which may contribute to a reduction in the inflammatory environment associated with metabolic conditions. One sachet dissolved in 1.5 litres of water, sipped throughout the day between meals.

B-Kurunga provides two well-studied probiotic strains, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus, alongside zinc, in a convenient tablet form. The gut microbiome is increasingly understood to play a significant role in metabolic regulation: specific bacterial populations influence the way dietary carbohydrates are processed, the production of short-chain fatty acids that affect insulin sensitivity, and the systemic inflammatory tone that drives insulin resistance. Research suggests that probiotic supplementation may contribute to improvements in metabolic markers in people with type 2 diabetes, though the evidence is still developing and individual responses vary. B-Kurunga also contributes to immune regulation and digestive comfort, both of which are relevant concerns in diabetes. One tablet daily, taken before food if possible. As noted above, please be mindful of zinc intake when taking B-Kurunga alongside the standalone Zinc supplement.

Lifestyle Recommendations

Supplements work best alongside dietary and lifestyle habits that directly address the metabolic roots of diabetes. A diet built around low-glycaemic-index foods, with plenty of non-starchy vegetables, quality protein, and healthy fats, and with refined carbohydrates, sugary drinks, and ultra-processed foods kept to a minimum, creates the dietary foundation that makes all other interventions more effective. Regular physical movement, even a thirty-minute walk after meals, meaningfully improves post-meal glucose handling and insulin sensitivity over time. Sleep quality matters too: poor sleep consistently worsens insulin resistance.

Monitor your blood glucose regularly throughout this programme and share any changes with your GP or diabetes nurse. This programme may have effects on your metabolic markers, and your medical team needs to know you are following it. Do not adjust any diabetes medication without medical supervision.

The programme runs for 30 days and can be repeated after a break and a review with your healthcare provider. If you would like to discuss whether this programme is appropriate for your specific situation, I am always happy to talk it through. Please reach out through the contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need all six supplements?

If you are beginning with just two or three, I would start with Daily Delicious Hi-Fiber and Coral Magnesium, as these address the two most directly relevant nutritional concerns for type 2 diabetes: post-meal glucose responses and magnesium depletion. Coral-Mine provides the daily hydration and mineralisation foundation that supports everything else. Chlorella, B-Kurunga, and Zinc can be added progressively. Please discuss the full list with your GP or diabetes nurse before starting.

How long before I notice any change in how I feel?

Most people notice improvements in digestive comfort, energy stability, and general wellbeing within the first two to three weeks. Any changes to blood glucose markers take longer and will be most meaningfully tracked through your regular blood tests with your GP or diabetes nurse. I would encourage you to continue monitoring your blood glucose regularly throughout this programme and to share the results with your healthcare team. Please do not draw conclusions about your glucose levels from how you feel alone.

Can I take these supplements alongside metformin or insulin?

Please discuss every supplement in this programme with your GP or prescribing doctor before starting, particularly if you are on metformin, insulin, or any other diabetes medication. Some supplements, including magnesium and chromium-containing products, can influence glucose metabolism and may theoretically interact with certain medications. Your doctor needs the full picture and may also want to adjust the timing of blood glucose monitoring while you are taking the programme.

I have been told I am prediabetic. Is this programme relevant for me?

Yes, this programme is very relevant at the prediabetes stage, and I would argue that it is one of the most valuable times to introduce structured nutritional support. The metabolic changes that drive prediabetes, particularly insulin resistance and impaired glucose tolerance, respond well to dietary fibre, magnesium, probiotic support, and the broader interventions in this programme. Combined with dietary changes and regular movement, a nutritional programme like this one can be a meaningful part of a holistic approach to addressing prediabetes before it progresses. Please keep your GP informed and continue with any recommended monitoring.
