Arthrosis, known in the UK more commonly as osteoarthritis, is the most widespread joint condition in the world. It is a degenerative disease characterised by the gradual breakdown of cartilage, the smooth, resilient tissue that covers the ends of bones within a joint and allows them to glide past each other without friction. As cartilage wears away, the bones begin to come into direct contact, generating pain, inflammation, stiffness, and a progressive loss of the joint’s ability to function freely. The knees, hips, hands, and spine are most commonly affected.

The conventional medical approach to arthrosis focuses primarily on pain management and, in advanced cases, surgical intervention. Both have their place. But between the onset of symptoms and the point where surgery becomes necessary, there is a long period during which nutritional support can make a meaningful practical difference: slowing the rate of cartilage degradation, reducing the inflammatory burden on the joint, improving the volume and quality of synovial fluid, and supporting the connective tissue structures that surround and stabilise it. This is what this programme is designed to do.

Please consult your GP before beginning this programme, particularly if you are on prescribed medication or have been diagnosed with a specific form of arthrosis that requires specialist management.

Programme Goals

This programme works toward five interconnected aims: restoring and nourishing cartilage tissue; reducing joint inflammation and pain; improving joint mobility and range of movement; supporting the connective tissue of tendons and ligaments; and optimising internal hydration to sustain synovial fluid production. Each supplement in the programme contributes to one or more of these goals, and together they form a comprehensive nutritional foundation for arthritic joints.

Deep Joint Nourishment

B-Luron is the foundational supplement for this programme and one of the most clinically interesting joint products available from Coral Club. It is a liquid supplement, taken as a 30ml measuring cup once daily after a meal, and each dose provides 150mg of hyaluronic acid and 300mg of chondroitin sulphate, alongside vitamin E. This combination is designed to directly activate the body’s own production of synovial fluid, the natural lubricant that fills every joint and is produced by the synovial membrane. In arthrosis, synovial fluid volume and viscosity both decline as cartilage deteriorates, and this reduction accelerates further joint damage. Oral hyaluronic acid has been shown to reach joint tissue and support the restoration of synovial fluid quality from within. Chondroitin sulphate, the most abundant glycosaminoglycan in cartilage, acts as a fluid magnet within cartilage tissue, attracting and retaining water to maintain its compressibility and cushioning capacity while also inhibiting the enzymes that break down the cartilage matrix. Vitamin E provides antioxidant protection to the joint tissue. The efficacy of B-Luron has been compared by some practitioners to localised intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid, but taken orally it supports all joints simultaneously rather than one at a time. A full 30-day course requires two 500ml bottles. Take 30ml once daily after a meal.

Reducing Inflammation and Pain

Coral Boswellia provides a standardised extract of Boswellia serrata resin, one of the most well-researched botanical anti-inflammatories in clinical use. Its boswellic acid compounds inhibit the 5-LOX inflammatory pathway, reducing the production of the leukotrienes that drive chronic joint inflammation. Unlike non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, Boswellia does not damage the gastric lining, making it appropriate for longer-term use. It also improves local blood circulation within the joint, supporting the delivery of nutrients and the clearance of inflammatory waste products. One capsule twice daily with food.

Liposomal Curcumin is a liquid supplement containing curcumin in the patented Cureitâ„¢ liposomal form, which overcomes the very poor natural bioavailability of standard curcumin. Curcumin inhibits multiple pro-inflammatory pathways simultaneously, reduces the oxidative stress that accelerates cartilage breakdown, and improves microcirculation in joint tissue. In arthrosis specifically, it helps to moderate the inflammatory cycle that sustains and worsens the condition even after mechanical cartilage damage has occurred. Take 5 ml once daily, directly or mixed into a glass of water or juice. Shake well before use.

Supporting Connective Tissue

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) provides organic sulphur, the essential precursor to collagen and elastin synthesis. Collagen is the structural protein that gives cartilage, tendons, and ligaments their tensile strength and resilience. As arthrosis progresses, collagen degradation outpaces production, and the sulphur that MSM provides is one of the direct raw materials the body needs to reverse that balance. MSM also has well-documented analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties in its own right, reducing joint pain and stiffness through mechanisms that complement those of Boswellia and curcumin. Two capsules daily.

FlexiCor provides a comprehensive connective tissue support complex: glucosamine hydrochloride, chondroitin sulphate, MSM, vitamin C, manganese, and bamboo extract. Glucosamine stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and glycosaminoglycans within the joint, which are the building blocks of both the cartilage matrix and synovial fluid. Chondroitin sulphate reinforces cartilage structure and inhibits cartilage-degrading enzymes. Manganese is an essential cofactor in the body’s own chondroitin production and helps to normalise mineral metabolism, including calcium. Bamboo extract is one of the richest natural sources of silica, which stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid and chondroitin and restores the resilience and elasticity of collagen and elastin fibres. Vitamin C is required for collagen synthesis and provides additional antioxidant protection. One capsule twice daily with food. Note: FlexiCor and B-Luron are complementary rather than overlapping, as B-Luron focuses on synovial fluid restoration while FlexiCor supports the broader connective tissue matrix.

Hydration and Joint Protection

Omega-3 TG provides EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids in triglyceride form for optimal absorption. Omega-3s are incorporated into the lipid component of the synovial membrane, supporting its capacity to produce and maintain synovial fluid quality. They reduce systemic and local inflammation through the prostaglandin pathway and support the elasticity of cartilage and connective tissue cell membranes. Regular omega-3 intake is associated with meaningful reductions in joint stiffness and inflammatory markers in osteoarthritic joints. Two capsules daily with food.

Coral-Mine transforms 1.5 litres of clean water daily into structured, alkaline, mineralised water providing calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Optimal hydration is directly relevant to arthrosis because synovial fluid is water-based, and its volume and viscosity depend entirely on the body being adequately hydrated. Chronic low-grade dehydration reduces synovial fluid production, increasing friction in the joint and accelerating cartilage wear. The alkalising effect of Coral-Mine also helps to reduce the acidic internal environment that promotes inflammatory processes. One sachet dissolved in 1.5 litres of water, sipped throughout the day between meals.

Lifestyle Recommendations

A diet rich in natural collagen sources, particularly bone broth, oily fish, eggs, and leafy greens, directly complements the connective tissue support in this programme. Antioxidant-rich vegetables and fruits reduce the oxidative burden on the joints. Reduce refined sugar, white flour, and ultra-processed foods, all of which promote the inflammation that drives arthrosis progression.

Gentle, consistent movement is essential. Swimming, yoga, walking on flat surfaces, and joint mobility exercises maintain synovial fluid circulation and keep the surrounding muscles strong enough to share some of the load the joint carries. Long periods of immobility worsen stiffness and reduce synovial fluid circulation, so regular movement throughout the day matters more than occasional exercise. Avoid prolonged weight-bearing on particularly affected joints during flares, and manage body weight where possible, as each kilogram of excess body weight places several kilograms of additional load on the knee joint with every step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need all seven supplements?

B-Luron is the most distinctive and foundational supplement in this programme and the one I would start with, as its combination of hyaluronic acid and chondroitin directly addresses the synovial fluid and cartilage issues that are central to arthrosis. Coral Boswellia and Omega-3 TG are my next priorities for their anti-inflammatory effects. MSM and Liposomal Curcumin add meaningful pain and inflammation support. FlexiCor provides the broadest connective tissue matrix support. Coral-Mine should run throughout as the hydration foundation. I am happy to help you work out a phased approach that fits your budget.

How long before I notice any improvement?

Most people notice some reduction in morning stiffness and an improvement in daily comfort within three to four weeks, particularly as the Boswellia, Liposomal Curcumin, and Omega-3 build their anti-inflammatory effect. The structural benefits of B-Luron and FlexiCor, which work at the level of cartilage and synovial fluid, take longer and tend to become more noticeable after six to eight weeks of consistent use. I would recommend tracking mobility, pain levels, and morning stiffness weekly to see the cumulative progress clearly.

Can I take this programme alongside painkillers or prescribed arthritis medication?

Please discuss this with your GP before starting if you are taking prescribed medication. Omega-3 fatty acids can affect platelet function, which matters if you are on anticoagulants. Curcumin can interact with certain drugs. Your prescribing doctor needs to know what you are taking and can advise on any combinations that require care.

I have been told my arthrosis is at an advanced stage. Can this programme still help?

Nutritional support can be beneficial at any stage of arthrosis, though the nature of that benefit changes as the condition progresses. In earlier stages, supplements like B-Luron and FlexiCor can meaningfully slow cartilage degradation and improve joint function. In more advanced stages, the primary benefit tends to be pain reduction, inflammation management, and maintaining the best possible quality of remaining joint function rather than structural restoration. I would always encourage anyone with advanced arthrosis to remain under the care of their GP or orthopaedic specialist and to discuss this programme with them before starting.
